Frequently Asked Questions

What is Digital Wasiya?

Digital Wasiya is a secure, Shariah-compliant platform that helps Muslims protect and pass on their digital life, Islamic obligations, and personal messages. It allows you to organize your Wasiya (will), digital assets, and final instructions—ensuring your legacy is honored and your family is cared for according to Islamic principles when the time comes.

Why do I need a Digital Wasiya?

Your digital life, accounts, and responsibilities don’t vanish after you pass. With a Digital Wasiya, your loved ones can access essential accounts, preserve cherished memories, fulfill your Islamic obligations, and follow your guidance—resting easy knowing your wishes and duties will be honored exactly as you intended.

How can Digital Wasiya help me?

With Digital Wasiya, you can securely store, organize, and share everything that matters:

  • Account details: Social media, email, subscriptions, and other online accounts.

  • Personal documents: Marriage licenses, birth certificates, and other important records.

  • Final wishes: Funeral plans, messages, and instructions for your Wāsi (Executor) and Wārith (Beneficiary).

  • Digital legacy: Photos, videos, stories, and other meaningful memories.

  • Islamic obligations: Debts, zakat, and donation intentions.

Our AI-guided system ensures your instructions are followed precisely, making it easy for your Wāsi (Executor) and Wārith (Beneficiary) to access what you intend—when they need it most.

How does Digital Wasiya keep my data safe?

We take your privacy and security seriously. Your data is protected with AES-256 military-grade encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, and multi-factor authentication for account access.

Using our hot and cold storage system, your assets remain securely offline (cold) until the time comes. After your passing, access is carefully validated with your designated Wāsi (Executor) and Wārith (Beneficiary), at which point the data is securely made available (hot) to carry out your instructions.

Our system also includes continuous security monitoring, regular penetration testing, and automated threat detection, keeping your Digital Wasiya safe and accessible only to those you trust.

Is a Digital Wasiya the same as a legal will?

Not exactly. A legal will covers physical assets like your home, car, or investments, while a Digital Wasiya focuses on online accounts, digital assets, memories, and your Islamic obligations.

Starting January 2026, Digital Wasiya will offer a full legal will service through a partnership with Digital Will & Trust—giving you a complete solution that protects both your digital and physical legacy.

How is Digital Wasiya different from traditional or online will services?

Traditional wills often don’t address Islamic inheritance laws or the growing presence of digital assets. Many online services sell your data or charge extra for every custom feature.

Digital Wasiya is different. We provide transparent, low fees with all essential features included. Our AI guidance ensures your Wāsi (Executor) and Wārith (Beneficiary) can follow your instructions accurately, securing your digital and physical legacy without hidden costs or exploitation.

Can I include care instructions and funds for my dependents or pets?

Absolutely. You can add detailed care instructions and allocate funds to support dependents or pets. Digital Wasiya ensures these resources are released exactly according to your instructions, avoiding delays or legal complications.

Can I update my Digital Wasiya over time?

Yes. Your digital life and obligations evolve, and so can your Digital Wasiya. You can update accounts, instructions, or obligations anytime. Our AI-guided system ensures everything remains current, accurate, and secure.

What if I forget to add a new account or obligation?

No problem. You can add new accounts or obligations at any time, and Digital Wasiya will guide you through the updates. Regular check-ins ensure your Digital Wasiya reflects all that matters most to you.

Can I choose different executors & beneficiaries for different assets or obligations?

Yes. You can assign specific digital or physical assets, messages, and obligations to different Wārith (Beneficiary) anywhere in the world. Our system provides step-by-step guidance for your Wāsi (Executor) and Wārith (Beneficiary) to access everything securely.

What if my Wāris (Beneficiary) or Wasi (Executor) are not tech-savvy?

No worries. Digital Wasiya guides your Wāsi (Executor) and Wārith (Beneficiary) step-by-step. If they encounter any issues, our support team is available to provide personal guidance, ensuring instructions are followed correctly and securely.

Is there a limit to how many assets or accounts I can include?

There’s no strict limit. You can store everything that matters most—accounts, files, obligations, and memories. Storage can be expanded as needed, giving you full freedom to preserve your entire legacy while prioritizing simplicity if you choose.

Who can access my Digital Wasiya?

Only the people you trust. Your waṣī (executor) and designated wāris (beneficiary) will be the only ones granted access to your Digital Wasiya—and only after your passing. We use strong, encrypted security to ensure your instructions, assets, and messages remain private until the appointed time, fulfilling your amanah with dignity and care.

Can I share my Digital Wasiya with multiple people?

Yes. You can share access with multiple trusted individuals—family, legal representatives, or anyone you designate. Each Wāsi (Executor) and Wārith (Beneficiary) is authenticated, authorized, and verified. All actions are logged in a secure audit trail, ensuring your instructions reach only the intended recipients safely and transparently.

Can I access my Digital Wasiya from anywhere?

Yes. You can securely access and update your Digital Wasiya from any device, anywhere in the world. Updates sync across all devices, keeping your legacy current and secure.

Will my Digital Wasiya work internationally?

Absolutely. You can designate Waris (Beneficiary) anywhere in the world. Our AI-guided system and support team provide clear instructions so your Wāsi (Executor) and Waris (Beneficiary) can securely access your digital accounts, assets, and obligations no matter where they are located.

Will my Digital Wasiya satisfy legal requirements today?

Yes—your digital assets, instructions, and obligations are fully secure, organized, and can be accessed by your Wāsi (Executor) and Waris (Beneficiary) without going through probate, giving your family fast and direct access to what you intend. Starting January 2026, our full legal will service through Digital Will & Trust ensures your estate is also compliant with local laws, covering both digital and physical assets.

What is a Dead-Min?

A Dead-Min is the person tasked with managing someone’s digital life after they pass away—their photos, accounts, messages, and online identities. This often happens unexpectedly, without guidance, leaving them to navigate locked accounts, lingering digital assets, and potential security risks.

With Digital Wasiya, our AI system ensures your Wāsi (Executor) has clear instructions and support, making the process secure, simple, and manageable.

How does Digital Wasiya make my Dead-Mins’ job easier?

Digital Wasiya organizes all your digital assets, obligations, and messages in one secure place. Your Wāsi (Executor) receives step-by-step guidance to access accounts, deliver messages, release funds, and carry out your instructions exactly as you intended.

Everything is pre-planned and documented, so your Dead-Mins can focus on fulfilling your wishes and obligations rather than struggling with passwords, locked accounts, or unclear instructions.

Do my Wāsi and Waris (Executor/Benificiary) need an app? Do they have to pay?

Yes, your Wāsi (Executor) and Waris (Beneficiary) use the Digital Wasiya app to securely access your instructions, accounts, and obligations. This ensures your digital legacy remains private and protected, available only to those you’ve designated.

Digital Wasiya goes further than a PDF will—every action is tracked, coordinated, and guided. Your Wāsi (Executor) and Waris (Beneficiary) are assisted in accessing accounts, delivering messages, and fulfilling obligations exactly as planned.

Access is completely free for life—our Essential Plan gives them all the tools to manage your legacy safely, securely, and without cost.

What if I change my mind about my Digital Wasiya?

You’re in full control. There are no contracts, hidden fees, or charges to update your Digital Wasiya. You can revise your Waris (Beneficiary) allocations, change instructions, or update obligations anytime—effortlessly and securely—ensuring your wishes always reflect your current intentions.
